Fatal wrong way crash on Interstate 55 in Tangipahoa Parish
AMITE- One person has died in a two vehicle accident Wednesday on Interstate 55 in Tangipahoa Parish between Independence and Amite.
Louisiana State Police have identified the victim in the accident as 22-year-old Summer Allen Graves of Amite.
Police say the accident was reported about 3 a.m.
Police say investigators believe Graves was traveling north in the southbound lane of the interstate and collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by 63-year-old Jackie Hartfield of Columbia, Mississippi.
Graves was pronounced deceased on scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office. Hartfield suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
