BATON ROUGE - Many Tiger fans had harsh words to say after the team was shut out of the National Championship. But fans didn't hold back cheers when the team arrived back at the LSU campus today.
About thirty fans turned out to welcome the football team back, a far smaller showing than the throng that sent them off to New Orleans last week with a police and helicopter escort.
Sheila Deguzman said personally, she was ready to put the game behind her start the next season.
"At first I was kind of disappointed, embarrassed almost," she said about the dismal 21-0 loss in the Superdome.
Fans at the arrival thanked Coach Les Miles and many players as they left the campus. Some said they remained in shock, while others said the fan base needs to be more supportive.
"You've got to take the good with the bad, you know," said Tigers fan Kevin McManus.
