LIVINGSTON - Investigators are waiting on autopsy results that could explain just what happened to a Walker man who was found dead this week.
Brandon Parnell's body was found by a fisherman Thursday in a creek along Airline Highway near Blind River in St. James Parish. His family told News 2 today he was murdered, then dumped there.
Parnell was last seen at a bar on Florida Blvd near Denham Springs on Feb. 25. Bartenders told News 2 investigators took surveillance video from that night to review. Parnell was last seen that day in a white, full-size work van which hasn't been found yet.
His family is asking for help paying for the funeral and burial. The "Brandon Parnell Memorial Fund" was created Friday at Whitney Bank.
Parnell's body remains at the New Orleans Coroner's Office, and it could be a few days before the results are released.
