Family says they were attacked by mother accused of killing 2-month-old
ZACHARY- Events leading up to the discovery of a dead 2-month-old boy are still developing.
Sabrina Maiden was arrested Tuesday afternoon accused of murdering her child, Prince Javeion Brown. He was found dead in a puddle of water, in a ditch, Tuesday morning. Authorities say she left him there Monday morning.
Before that, investigators say Maiden fought with the baby's father, then stormed out of their home on Highway 64 nude. Authorities say she showed up on a neighbor's property a few hours later, without the baby, still naked and with a combative attitude.
The family who encountered her says she was out of control.
Henry Cummings, who's 85-years-old, says Maiden ran into the yard and knocked him out of his chair. He says she was hitting him repeatedly, and before she could throw the chair at him, his nephew, Henry Scales, took it away from her. Scales was scratched up from his struggle with Maiden over a pipe Cummings was using to defend himself. Scales says when he got Maiden away from his uncle, she laid in the yard, naked, until authorities arrived.
The family didn't learn until Tuesday afternoon that the baby found yards from their home Tuesday morning belonged to Maiden, who ran onto their property the morning before.
The family says they don't plan on filing any charges against Maiden for the incident.
