Family pleads for hit and run driver to come forward
BATON ROUGE- It's been almost a week and there are hardly any leads. 23-year-old Durell Ballard died days after he was struck by a pick-up on Hanks Drive Sunday night.
Ballard's family says, they're not looking for revenge. They just need answers and that's why they want the driver to surrender to police.
Vel Morgan, Ballard's mother pleads to the driver:
"What it would mean to me to have you come forward is showing me that you do care. That you're sorry for what you did. The pain that we're in now. Think about if it was one of your family members that someone did this to. You would want to know."
Ballard was walking home from a friend's house Sunday night when he was hit. He was then was taken to a hospital where he stayed on life support for days, until doctors told his family there was no hope.
The pick-up truck that hit Ballard is described as a Silver or Gray GMC.
