BATON ROUGE - With school starting Wednesday morning in East Baton Rouge Parish, many parents are making last minutes preparations so their children are ready.
Over the years Rosalie Scott has bounced her son Qade from school to school searching for the right fit, and Tuesday she received a notice in the mail that made all her dreams come true.
"I just opened up the mailbox and there was a letter and I was like yay! I kind of got teared up a bit for him because this is what I've wanted for so long and now he's going into the fourth grade and they accepted him at the last minute," Scott said.
The Dufrocq School had some last minute openings and was able to accommodate Qade. He said the schools he went to before Dufrocq were good but "nothing like this."
"It took me a long time to get in here, and I'm really excited to be here. I never thought this was going to happen. I didn't think anything would be open," Qade said.
