GONZALES - For the second time in a year, Cornerview Cemetery is the victim of a rogue driver.
A man swerved off a bend of Cornerview Road near Chester Diez Road, slamming into graves at the cemetery and exposing one casket.
People who have loved ones buried there say something needs to be done.
"I'm going be buried here, right next to the road. Right where these cars are going through right now," said Lena Babin, who grew up across the street from the cemetery. "And I'm quite concerned that I may not stay there."
The cemetery is run by St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Gonzales. Church officials say the same thing they did in October, when a driver damaged 15 graves: erecting a fence wouldn't stop another accident.
Cornerview Road is also a state highway, and DOTD is looking into the situation to potentially installing more signs.
The cause of Sunday's accident is still under investigation.
