Families united at East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office's 'One Day with Kids'
BATON ROUGE - Over 50 children and their caregivers attended the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office's "One Day with Kids" event Tuesday at the parish prison.
Female inmates that completed the Second Chance 2 Recovery Program were allowed to spend a day with their children between 8 a.m to 3 p.m.
The Second Chance 2 Recovery Program is design to help inmates address critical family, social health, environmental and economic issues.
The sherrif's office said the day was intended to unite family members, develop positive relationships and strengthen bonds with inmates and their children. The program is intended to ensure that families succeed together in healthy positive ways.
