BUTTE LaROSE, La.- People in Butte LaRose are moving back after a mandatory evacuation two weeks ago.
St. Martin Parish leaders lifted the evacuation order because flood waters didn't rise as high as expected.
Renola Hebert and her sister spent the day moving bins and furniture back in their camps.
"About three weeks ago we moved out, everything, pictures on the walls, we stripped everything, so now we're bringing things back," Hebert said.
Hebert and her family were relieved to get no more than a puddle of water in their front yard. The Army Corps of Engineers originally predicted that Butte LaRose would get up to 15 feet of water.
"Only the good Lord knows what's going to happen," Hebert said.
