NEW ORLEANS -The visiting team got on the board first in the Saints' regular season opener, with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Tony Gonzalez. The scoring drive was helped by a 52-yard pass from Matt Ryan to Harry Douglas that got Atlanta to the 8-yard line on their second possession of the game.

The Saints' first drive was stopped when former Southeastern Lion Robert Alford broke up Drew Brees' third-down pass attempt to Kenny Stills.

This is Sean Payton's first regular season game back as Saints head coach.
