LIVINGSTON- Livingston Parish is another step closer to getting a smaller airport.
Parish President Layton Ricks said in an interview with ActionNews17.com, the FAA approved plans for an airport south of I-12.
Ricks would not elaborate on an exact location; only saying it would be in the Satsuma or Watson areas.
The airport would be used for small planes and corporate jets. Recently, a study suggested there is a need for a small airport in the parish.
An airport would require between 200 and 500 acres for development.
