Extradition orders signed for Louisiana fugitives

MEMPHIS, TN - Extradition orders were signed today for two former trusties who escaped from Baton Rouge and were caught in Tennessee.

A spokesperson for the Shelby County District Attorney's Office said Ricky Wedgeworth and Darian Pierce will be extradited to Louisiana, where they face escape charges.

The two escaped from a State Police barracks on March 4 and were arrested by Memphis Police after a high-speed chase March 14.

Wedgeworth and Pierce are also accused of carjacking and later killing an Ohio businessman while on the run.

Lt. Doug Cain with the Louisiana State Police says Wedgeworth and Pierce will be transported back to Louisiana but could not say exactly when.

Lt. Cain did say there is a possbility it could be sometime this week though.
