More than a dozen additional deputies were present as Assumption High School students reported to classes on Wednesday morning after numerous complaints from parents regarding racially based threats posted on Facebook.

Students were searched before being allowed to enter the campus.

The investigation into this matter is in progress and is expected to lead to the identification of the person(s) responsible for the postings.

Increased security measures will remain in effect until the successful conclusion of the investigation.
