Extended hours at OMV office continue next week
BATON ROUGE - Due to overwhelming demand for Office of Motor Vehicles services in the weeks after many vehicles were flooded, the office has announced it will extend hours at its Independence Boulevard Field Office.
The OMV reports that it has processed up to 600 cancelled plates a day since historic flooding came to the region, totaling thousands of vehicles. Duplicate driver’s licences, identification and other motor vehicle documents are also in high demand.
The extended hours will remain in effect through next week:
Saturday, 9/3 - 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday, 9/4 - CLOSED
Weekdays next week, 9/5 thru 9/9 - 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, 9/10 - 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
