BATON ROUGE- A new LSU energy report shows industry will invest $60 billion dollars in Louisiana projects over the next decade.
The investments are tied to Louisiana's natural gas resources and production development, and expected to generate more than $20 billion directly to the state economy.
Louisiana Chemical Association President Dan Borne says 30,000 new jobs could be added to the Baton Rouge and Lake Charles markets. He tells News 2 there are nearly six jobs created in outside jobs for every plant job added.
LSU professor David Dismukes calls it a new industrial revolution for Louisiana. He says the natural gas plans will benefit everything from gas to liquids facilities to petrochemical sites and mills.
