Expect Gov't Street to be closed Thursday morning
BATON ROUGE- Work will likely continue overnight Wednesday, and drivers who use Government Street should expect work to continue into the Thursday commute, effectively closing it to traffic for the morning rush.
A pipe leaked under the roadway causing a large hole to develop. The hole closed the two center lanes at first, but crews eventually closed all four-lanes of Government near Park.
"You don't know what is down there," said DPW Director David Guillory about the work crews will be doing overnight.
The hole is about three feet.
