BATON ROUGE- Police arrested five men, accused of terrorizing people on the streets of downtown early Friday morning.

"It was quite a scare," Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said about the situation that developed on Third Street around 2 a.m.

The men were "riding down Third Street, attempting to hit {people}. They were getting out, taking swings at individuals out there walking," McKneely said. At one point the driver was waiving a handgun around at the crowd, police added.

Several of the men police arrested were from Texas.  They were booked into the EBR Parish jail.
