BATON ROUGE - An eleven-year-old girl narrowly escaped her would be attacker on Tuesday, and her father wants the suspect behind bars.

"He grabbed her and tackled her. She's pretty scrapped up," the victim's father said. "She was hollering for help."

Baton Rouge Police are still looking for the man who's accused of the attempted kidnapping on the corner of Terrace Avenue and South Eugene around 5:40 p.m.

Police say the man stalked the girl for blocks, parked his car and tried to take her with him.

The father said his daughter kicked and twisted her way to freedom and a young boy who lived nearby heard the girl's screams and came to help.

"He came out and he's the one who dialed 911," the father said.

The man jumped back in his car and left.

The girl described her attacker as a man wearing a white t-shirt, dark jeans and black shoes and driving a white-four-door car with black trim.

"I know that it is the world we live in, but you never think it's going to happen on your doorstep. It's like you can't let your kids go out and do anything anymore," he said.  "Inside, it's tearing me up."

If you have any information on this, contact Baton Rouge Police at 389-3844.
