Ex-wife, son of "Hot Rod" Williams arrested for theft
GONZALES- Police have arrested the former wife and son of John "Hot Rod" Williams after allegations that they stole money from a college trust fund set up by Williams.
A five-month long investigation found that Karen Williams Reddix, 47, and John Francis Williams, 25, made unauthorized withdrawals from a Collegiate Investment fund, which Williams had set up for his three children.
Officials say the investment fund was valued at over $400,000 in 2005, and during a three-year period, spanning from 2005 to 2008, the accounts had been drawn down to $1,800.
Reddix and Williams have been booked into Ascension Parish Prison on charges of criminal conspiracy, bank fraud, felony theft in excess of $1,500 and identity theft. Reddix also faces forgery charges.
