BATON ROUGE - Police reported the arrest of a former employee of a local pizzeria after he threatened to shoot up the restaurant after he was fired.

22-year-old Arthur Robinson was booked on one count of terrorizing after his arrest by Baton Rouge Police on Saturday.

Robinson was formerly employed by Schlittz & Giggles, located at 2355 Ferndale Avenue. After he received notice of his termination, management said the man came to business and began to remove paychecks from the register without permission. When Robinson was told he wasn’t allowed to take anything from the business, he responded by saying “I can do what I want. I’m not done here. I’ll come back and shoot this place up,” according to the arrest report.

Witnesses said Robinson then left the business with the stolen paychecks, but he was seen driving by the business very slowly just a few minutes later. Employees inside were afraid that the man was preparing to follow through on his threat.

Schlittz & Giggles hired an off-duty police security officer to remain at the business from open to close, seven days a week in the days after the incident. The security detail noted that Robinson’s vehicle was seen driving slowly around the business several times over the course of the week that followed.

Police noted that Robinson’s criminal history included another incident where he was accused of illegal carrying of weapons in the city limits of Baton Rouge. With this information along with his threatening statements and employees fears led to police ramping up protection at the restaurant and developing probable cause to take the man into custody.

Robinson was booked into the EBR Parish Prison on the above charge.
