A former pharmacist who pleaded guilty to filling fraudulent prescriptions for an illegal Internet drug
company has been sentenced to 15 months in prison.
Fifty-six--year-old Paul Williams owned the Grand Couteau Prescription Shoppe in his hometown, Grand Couteau.
Federal prosecutors said a Panamanian company paid Williams more than $881,000 to fill fraudulent prescriptions for customers who ordered the drugs from the foreign company.
The judge who sentenced Williams this week also ordered him to forfeit his pharmacy to the federal government.
