Ex-N.O. cop to seek venue change for trial
NEW ORLEANS- A former New Orleans police officer charged with writing a false report on a deadly shooting in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, is planning to ask if his retrial can be moved from New Orleans.
The retrial of Travis McCabe stems from the deadly shooting of Henry Glover.
It is set to start March 11.
Defense lawyers say they need more time to prepare, including working on a motion for a change of venue.
Another former officer, David Warren, faces a separate retrial for shooting Glover before his body was burned in a car.
