Former LSU Police Officer Thomas Eugene Fife has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for possession of child pornography that a prosecutor said included images of children being raped by adults.

Fife was also fined $10,000 and ordered to serve 10 years of post-prison supervision.

Fife served 21 years at the LSU Police Department before FBI agents seized his work computer in July 2009.

He resigned four days later.
