Ex-deputy arrested for cattle theft
SHREVEPORT - A former Caddo Parish sheriff's deputy has been arrested for allegedly stealing three cows and selling them for nearly $3,000.
54-year-old Marilyn Roberson was arrested Wednesday for felony theft following an investigation by the sheriff's office and Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission.
The sheriff's office, in a news release Wednesday, said the cows did not belong to Roberson but were being kept on a pasture leased by her. Roberson is accused of selling the cows at the Panola Livestock sale barn in December.
Roberson was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center and immediately fired from her duties with the sheriff's office where she worked as a corrections deputy.
It was unknown if she has an attorney. Bond information was not immediately available.
