LOS ANGELES - Authorities in Southern California said a fugitive ex-LAPD officer barricaded himself in a a cabin in the San Bernardino mountains and exchanged fire with police searching for him.
Two officers were wounded in the exchange and airlifted to nearby hospitals, according to authorities.
A law enforcement official said the suspect, believed to be ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, stole a vehicle and barricaded himself in a cabin when police found it. A short time later he and police exchanged fire.
Investigators have been searching for Dorner in the Big Bear region since his pickup was found there Thursday. He's accused of killing a couple and another cop.
