Ex-city worker gets 15 years in sex case
A former Lafayette Utilities System employee will spend the next 15 years in federal prison for
having inappropriate sexual conversations in an Internet chat room with an undercover state police officer.
Kevin Ray of Opelousas also will have to serve 10 years of supervised release once his prison term is completed.
Ray was arrested in April 2009 after arranging a meeting in Lafayette with what he thought was a 15-year-old female from Lafayette.
The girl was an undercover officer.
Ray was convicted in August on charges of attempting to entice a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity and attempted production of child pornography.
