BATON ROUGE - Our etiquette expert Marthanne Calvi spoke to us about how to be a good houseguest.
"If someone says make yourself at home, they don't fully mean it," Calvi advised, adding it usually means to just make yourself comfortable in the surroundings.
Remember lessons from when you were a child: always ask permission, remember if you are knocking to enter that doesn't mean "knock and then enter," wait until you hear a response.
Another key to being a good houseguests: make sure you clean up after yourself.
