ESPN is reporting that the New Orleans Hornets have fired coach Byron Scott after a 3-6 start.
Scott won NBA Coach of the Year honors two seasons ago after leading the Hornets to 56-26 record and a division title. Last year the Hornets posted a 49-33 mark before getting beat up by the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs. The Hornets lost Game 4 of that series by 58 points.
The Hornets are expected to make an official announcement Thursday afternoon, according to ESPN.
