Sheriff's deputies are still searching for one of two inmates who escaped from the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Tuesday night.
26 year old Leonard Thomas, pictured in camoflage jacket, was caught in Port Allen Thursday evening.
Deputies tried to stop a car with no license plate at about 7:30 p.m.
The driver sped off and crashed into an 18 wheeler parked in a hotel parking lot.
Two people jumped out of the car and ran away.
One was caught and identified as Thomas.
The other person managed to get away and is believed to be 23 year old Jeremy Ricard, pictured in red.
Deputies believe Ricard may be responsible for stealing a pickup truck in Port Allen this morning.
It's a 2007 GMC, silver in color with a 100 gallon fuel tank on the back.
NEN Companies LLC is written on the side.
The car Thomas was in belonged to 39 year old Mac Arthur Hale.
Hale was found shot in the head in the laundry room of an apartment complex on North Marque Ann Dr. in Baton Rouge Thursday morning.
Detectives have not named a suspect in the murder of Hale.
