Escaped inmate still at large in W. Feliciana Parish
ST. FRANCISVILLE - Authorities are warning people in West Feliciana Parish to be on their guard as they continue their search for an escaped inmate.
45-year-old David St. Germain was noticed missing from the parish jail around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Investigators believe he cut or ripped open a hole in the fence near the jail's dog pens, climbed another fence and ran off into the woods.
Chase teams are back out today in the St. Francisville area; last night they had tracked St. Germain to a warehouse where they think he spent the night.
Investigators believe St. Germain may try to steal a vehicle to get out of the area. Checkpoints have also been set up around the parish where authorities are searching vehicles leaving the area.
St. Germain was being held for violating parole after a theft conviction.
