SEATTLE (AP) - Ken Griffey Jr. has become the seventh member of the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame during a lengthy, emotional ceremony.

Griffey made a long walk from center field on Saturday night to just in front of home plate for the ceremony that was supposed to last about 30 minutes but went nearly an hour. Griffey received a long standing ovation and most fans in the lower bowl of the stadium stood throughout the entire ceremony.

Griffey was brought to tears when his son Trey - a football player at Arizona - made a surprise appearance with a video message, saying, "I can't be more proud of you and the way you did it."

Ken Griffey spoke for nearly 25 minutes in a completely unscripted speech.
