Ejected from car, victim found in canal
METAIRIE- The body of a man who was apparently ejected from a car that rolled over several times after the driver lost control was found in a suburban New Orleans drainage canal.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says the accident happened early Saturday as a Honda Civic driven by 29-year-old Kerry Farnsworth of Johnson City, Tenn., traveled through Metairie.
Farnsworth told investigators he had a passenger, but there was nobody in the wreckage. Officers later found the body submerged in the canal.
The identity of the victim hasn't been released. Farnsworth was being treated at University Hospital for injuries from the crash.
