Eight arrests made during Strawberry Festival
HAMMOND - The Tangipahoa Sheriff's office made eight arrests and issued one warrant during the 2013 Strawberry Festival in Hammond.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards still called the Festival a success.
"As the result of any large gathering for such an event, numerous disturbances occurred which were immediately handled by deputies," Edwards said.
He said deputies manning the command center reunited 32 lost children back with their families, and thanked outside law enforcement agencies for assisting during the festival.
Those arrested include:
Treondus Brumfield, Ponchatoula - Disturbing the peace
Jabarie Jones, Hattiesburg, Miss. - Disturbing the peace
Johnny Coleman, Hammond - Disturbing the peace
Terrell Town, Ponchatoula - Disturbing the peace
Abraham Turner, Ponchatoula - Disturbing the peace, aggravated battery, and resisting arrest by force
Joshua Clay, Forest City, AR - Aggravated battery on a police officer, disturbing the peace and 3 counts of resisting arrest by force
Dionte Brumfield, Ponchatoula - Disturbing the peace
Marquis Square, Baton Rouge - Carrying a concealed weapon and disturbing the peace
Jessica Cousin, Ponchatoula - Warrant issued for disturbing the peace and interfering with a police investigation
