BATON ROUGE- The National Weather Service determined that an EF-1 Tornado touched down near Greensburg in St. Helena Parish.

NWS estimates winds up to 95 miles per hour knocked down around a dozen trees Thursday morning on Lathan Bridges Road.

NWS also believes the same storm system also led to a tornado touching down in Tangipahoa Parish.

According to the Entergy power company, hundreds of people lost power shortly after 6 a.m. The energy company posted a message on its website, saying it was aware of the outages and was working to correct them.

The company says it hopes to have power back for everyone in the area by 9:30 a.m.

Thursday morning between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. a tornado warning was issued during the storm.

Debris from the storm also caused problems for drivers in Tangipahoa. Delays were reported along I-55 at LA-1048 after a tree fell into the middle of the interstate.
