Former Governor Edwin Edwards spent his Easter out of prison and with his family.
According to The Advocate Edwards was on a three-day furlough from the federal prison at Oakdale.
Edwards was reportedly staying at a campground in Port Allen.
The 82-year-old former governor is serving a 10-year prison term for a racketeering conviction.
He's projected to be released July of next year.
According to prison officials, it's not uncommon for prisoners to be released on furlough for a few days at a time to reintroduce them to society.
