BATON ROUGE - Governor John Bel Edward’s Transition Committee on Fiscal Matters released a report containing tax recommendations for the state going forward on Friday.

The transition committee spent three days putting together a plan that contains 10 guiding principles and provided options for the incoming administration to take into account. The report covers revenue-raising measures, both new and existing, and seeks to outline a plan for taxation as the Edwards administration takes over.

A range of revenue options are included in the report which range from the reduction of the state’s income-tax rates across the board to the establishment of a flat corporate tax rate.

You can read the full report on the Office of the Governor’s website.
