EBRSO taking toy drive applications
BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office began accepting applications Monday for their annual Christmas Crusade for Children drive.
The toy drive was started in 1988 and helps thousands of children in need get gifts each year for Christmas.
There will be two periods when parents can apply. The first runs Monday through Friday, Nov. 22, at any EBRSO substation. The second period is scheduled for Dec. 2 through Dec. 9 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the City Constable's Community Services Division in Cortana Mall.
Applicants must live inside East Baton Rouge Parish, children must be younger than 12 to qualify, and applicants are only allowed to apply with one of the Christmas Crusade for Children agencies. Parents should have their child's Social Security Number ready when they apply.
People who want to donate toys to the Christmas Crusade can drop them off at Cumulus Media, the City Constable's Office Headquarters, the Constable's Community Services Division at Cortana Mall, or any EBRSO substation in the parish.
