East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is looking for two inmates that escaped from the parish prison last night around 10:00 p.m.

Deputies are looking for 23-year-old Jeremy Ricard and 26-year-old Leonard Thomas. Ricard was arrested by EBRSO in March for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Thomas was arrested in by Baton Rouge Police in December 2009 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. This January, Thomas was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm.

According to reports, both men were working in the kitchen of the prison. After all inmates working in the area were accounted for, authorities believe the two men went out to the back loading dock. The two then climbed the facility’s fence.

Deputies discovered blood where the two went over the protective fence. A perimeter was immediately setup around the area and K-9 units were called out for tracking.
