BATON ROUGE – Deputies say a man violated a protective order and threatened to kill his estranged wife at a Zachary High School track practice.

Deltrick Parker was charged with domestic abuse battery with child endangerment, violation of a protective order, cyberstalking and telephone communications harassment. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Tuesday.

According to arrest documents, the wife said Parker approached her at Zachary High School track field on March 30. He then pushed her against a fence and demanded she unlock her cellphone.

The wife told investigators that Parker said there were no cameras and if he found out she was talking to another man, he would “blow her brains out and the guy’s brains out.” She then unlocked her phone and left with her children shortly after. Parker followed her in his vehicle and tried to get her to pull over several times before finally stopping in front of her car on Comite Drive. He then threw her phone back into her vehicle.

"The victim stated she attempted to report the incident the next day but was told nothing could be done after the fact," the arrest report says.

Two weeks later, the wife contacted the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office because Parker had called her 18 times Tuesday. Documents say the victim answered the 19th call at the EBRSO Central Substation and became visibly distraught.

The woman told deputies that she was concerned for her safety due to Parker’s alarming behavior. She added that Parker had contacted her family warning them to stay away from her because “he does not want any of them to be caught in the crossfire” when he kills her.

Documents say numerous text messages between Parker and the victim contained profanity and the victim replied, “please leave me alone.”

Investigators say that Parker had been arrested two times in 2017 for domestic abuse battery with child endangerment and violation of protective orders. He was released from the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on March 18 with a bond stipulation that he would not contact his wife.

Deputies learned that Parker wore an ankle monitor as a result of the previous arrest. The monitoring company confirmed that Parker was behind the Zachary High School track and field at the time of the alleged crime.

Tuesday, deputies responded to Willow Oaks Drive and located Parker. He was arrested and transported to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
