BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office arrested 52-year-old James "Jimmy" Lyon Sunday night inside a pharmacy on George O'Neal Avenue. He's accused of raping a juvenile female relative.
Investigators went to his house Sunday afternoon to make an arrest. According to the Sheriff's Office, Lyon would not answer the door. Detectives left temporarily, then followed him to a nearby drug store where they made the arrest.
Detectives were tipped off by a family member.
Lyon worked for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System in maintenance for years before retiring in October of 2007.
He's being held in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $100,000 bond.
If convicted, Lyon could face life in prison.
