EBRSO looking for guy who tried to pass fake check
BATON ROUGE - East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Detectives are looking for a man they said tried to purchase two generator using a stolen cashier's check.
Spokesperson Casey Rayborn Hicks said on Oct. 22 the man entered Bozeman Distributor on Airline Highway and presented a Citibank cashier's check to pay for the generators.
When the business asked the man to wait while they attempted to verify the funds, he left the store.
Citibank confirmed that they did not issue the check, and said the check number wasn't valid.
Hicks said the man was driving a black four-door pickup with chrome running boards and a brushguard on the front bumper. Anyone with information on their identity should contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at (225) 389-5000.
