BATON ROUGE - Detectives asked for the public's help Friday identifying a man who investigators said attacked and beat up an East Baton Rouge Parish store's employee recently.

Sheriff's deputies said it happened on May 30 at a business in the southern part of the parish.

Deputies said a man came in through an employee-only entrance and assaulted a worker who confronted him. The employee used pepper spray on the attacker, according to deputies, who said the man then fled on foot toward the Gardere area.

Detectives said the attacker was wearing a black shirt, black skull cap, multi-colored shorts and athletic shoes. He is believed to be between 5'10" and 6'0" in height and weighs about 185 pounds.

Anyone with information about the attacker's identity should contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at (225) 389-5000.
