EBRSO investigates Gardere murder
BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office continues searching for answers on a murder from Saturday night.
25-year-old Toliver Lyons was shot multiple times before he died behind a vacant apartment building around 8pm.
His mother, Doretha Benson, said she heard he was running from his attackers before he was shot. Monday morning, Benson, other family members and friends brought flowers to the site where he died.
"My heart is broken. I have half a heart, and it's not going to be the same without him. He didn't deserve to die," Benson said.
The sheriff's office has yet to release a motive or name any suspects.
