EBRSO: Attacker bit in the crotch by victim
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's detectives said a hospital worker who was sexually assaulted by a patient in East Baton Rouge Parish fought off her attacker by biting him hard enough in the privates it left teeth impressions.
Detectives arrested Kendrick Carter of Zachary Thursday on forcible rape charges.
Deputies said they were called to 23331 Old Scenic Highway around 1:10 p.m. Thursday after someone told them they heard a person screaming. When they arrived deputies said a woman at the scene told them she'd been sexually assaulted, and the caller said he'd seen a man running across a field near that location.
The victim told deputies she was a worker for an area hospital who was driving a patient home. She said the patient, Carter, started asking her sexual questions and she pulled over because she was uncomfortable. She said Carter grabbed her throat and forced his privates into her mouth, while she was fighting him and honking the horn. Deputies said the victim told them she bit Carter, then was able to get away from him and run to a nearby residence.
Deputies found and detained Carter in the area, and said he had blood around the waist of his pants and in the crotch area. Detectives said Carter denied attacking the woman, claiming he'd hurt himself climbing over a fence. Detectives examined Carter's privates as they took DNA samples and noticed teeth impressions at the base of his penis.
Deputies booked Carter on forcible rape charges into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He was given a $75,000 bond.
