BATON ROUGE - East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a McKinley High School student, 17-year-old Marquese Beamon, for possession with intent to distribute narcotic drugs, manufacture/distribution of manufactured drugs, and violation of uniform controlled substances in a drug-free zone.

Beamon was in the school’s counselor’s office when the secretary saw Beamon take something from his bag and hand it to another student, asking her to hold it for him because he was going to be searched.

The student gave another school administrator the item which was a medicine bottle with 3 plastic bags of marijuana and one Vyvance capsule inside.

According to EBRSO, Beamon claimed that another student threw the bottle into his lap, and he threw it to another student. However, school video showed Beamon put the bottle in the student’s shirt.

Beamon was taken to EBR Parish Prison, and booked on the above charges.
