BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge mayor's office plans today to announce the return of a "major sporting event" to the city-parish.
The last major event was the U. S. Bowling Congress 2012 Open Championship Tournament, which brought an estimated $113 million economic impact to East Baton Rouge.
Mayor Kip Holden's office plans to make the announcement at 11:30 a.m. It will be at the River Center, where the Bowling Congress tournament was held.
