EBR schools to receive fruit tree donation
BATON ROUGE- Schools in East Baton Rouge are getting a healthy bonus. Every school in the district is set to receive a donation of fruit trees.
The trees are being donated by a Dr. Thom Dihn, who hopes the trees will influence students to make healthy eating choices.
“I wanted to do something, but I'm quite busy so I don't have a lot of time to put into the project,” said Dihn. “I thought fruit trees could be great because I just have to plant it and let nature take its course.”
Dr. Dinh says she got the idea while trying to do something about the childhood obesity epidemic in Louisiana.
