EBR School Board member dies, visitation next week
BATON ROUGE - East Baton Rouge Parish School Board member Randy Lamana died suddenly Wednesday night, according to the board's president.
Lamana's visitation wil be Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Rebenhorst East Funeral Home at 11000 Florida Blvd. A funeral service will follow the Tuesday visitation at their chapel and burial at Roselawn.
Lamana had attended a legislative hearing at the Capitol Wednesday night on restructuring the school system, and died some time later according to School Board President David Tatman.
The school board pushed back Thursday night's meeting until a later date after news of Lamana's death.
Lamana was elected to represent District 11 in 2007, which represents Northeast Elementary, Northeast High and Twin Oaks Elementary. He is survived by his wife Tammy, three children and four grandchildren.
