EBR Library director resigns
BATON ROUGE - The director for the East Baton Rouge Parish Library system abruptly resigned from his position earlier this afternoon, according to library board members.
The board received an email around 2 p.m. from director David Farrar which stated he was resigning. In a copy of the email obtained by News 2, Farrar said the "negative focus" the library system had come under in the past few days was the reason for his resignation.
Earlier this week the former second-in-command for the library pleaded guilty to attempted receipt of child porn in Alabama. Aaron Brian Fielder admitted he tried to solicit sex from a person he thought was a 16-year-old online, and could face up to 20 years in prison. He had resigned from his position earlier this year.
News 2 will have more information on this developing story as it becomes available.
