EBR in top 2 of early voting numbers
BATON ROUGE- East Baton Rouge Parish ranked among the top two in early voting turnout for the last week.
In EBR, 22,051 votes were cast early. Orleans Parish voters cast 23,149.
Statewide, a little more than 230,000 voters cast a ballot early and most were Democrats.
While lines were lengthy at early voting locations and some people waited for up to an hour ahead of the deadline Tuesday, the amount of early voters did not break a record. More voters voted this week than in the 2010 mid-term election but fewer than in the 2012 presidential election.
Women and white voters outpaced other races and sexes voting early.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th.
